Elijah Chauncey Parsons, Lyman's only son to reach maturity, married Ann Augusta Spaulding in 1874, and constructed for that event a house close beside the "Old Red House." Upon Lyman's death, however. Elijah Chauncey returned to the old house. Later, his son Josiah Waite began married life in the new house, until the city look the property. Thereupon, the building was moved to an adjoining site on Union Street, directly opposite the County Jail, and two doors removed from the Henry Graves residence. In this new position, it is the home of Josiah Waite's grandson Edward Josiah.
